Cuban Delegation In To Boost Bilateral Co-operation
Luanda, 08/04 – A Cuban delegation, led by the deputy Minister of the Armed
Forces, General Leopoldo Sintra Frias, is since Monday in Luanda, for a six-day visit meant
to boots the bilateral co-operation, Angop has learnt.
On his arrival, the Latin American country’s official, also member of the politburo of the
Communist Party, was welcomed by the Angolan Minister of Public Works, Higino Carneiro.
Speaking to press, at Luanda "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, he said that the main
goal of his visit to Angola is to assess the development of cooperation between the two
countries in the areas of health, education, military and construction.
"We also intend to visit some construction projects that Cubans have been executing, as
well as Benguela ophtalmologic clinic that was granted to Angola by the Cuban leader, Fidel
Castro", he said.
Asked on next September 05 legislative elections, he said he hopes the ruling MPLA party will get a greater number of seats in the Parliament.
