Cuba: Accords Mark President dos Santos Second Day of Visit
Havana, 09/21 - The signing of co-operation accords between Angola and Cuba will
be the highlight of the second day of visit to Cuba of President Jose Eduardo dos Santos,
ANGOP has learnt.
According to the three-day visit programme, the agreements might be signed at the Revolution
Palace, and shortly after will start the talks between the Angolan President and the deputy
President of the Cuban Council of State and Government, general Raul Castro Ruz.
Ministerial and experts delegations of both states are working for the preparation of the
accords and protocols of understanding which will be signed.
The Angolan team to the talks is made up by the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Joao Bernardo,
Waters and Energy, Botelho de Vasconcelos, Public Works, Higino Carneiro, Health,
Ruben Sikato, Education, Antonio Burity da Silva, and the Ambassador to Cuba, José
Condessa de Carvalho.
Other members of the visiting team are high ranking officials with the Presidency of the
Republic, the secretary of State for Higher Education, Adao Gaspar do Nascimento, the
deputy ministers of Culture, Virgilio Coelho, Hotels and Tourism, Paulino Baptista, Youth and
Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, and experts of various institutions of the state.
Still on Friday, President Eduardo dos Santos will lay a wreath of flowers on the bust of the
first Angolan President, Antonio Agostinho Neto, as well as visit the centre of genetic,
biotechnology engineering and the park of African historical leaders.
