Football: Interclube Win, Rise to Ninth Position

Luanda, 08/04 – Interclube beat Desportivo da Huila 2-1 Monday in Luanda’s June 22 Stadium, in a match closing the 18th round of the national first division championship of football, having as a result risen a step in the competition’s standings.

The goals of the championship trophy holder were scored by Romeu and Traoré at the 77 and 85 minutes, respectively, while Tuaby, at the 99, reduced the gap for his team.

With this win, Interclube, coached by Portuguese Augusto Inácio, have reached 21 points, in the ninth position, while Desportivo da Huila come last-but-one with 16 points, threatened with demotion.

Monday too, 1º de Agosto, vice national champions, hit the snag in their race to catch up with leading Petro de Luanda, after a goalless draw with Kabuscorp do Palanca, in a Luanda’s Coqueiros Stadium match.
