Canoeing: Fortunato Domingos Pledges To Raise Country`s Name
Luanda, 08/04 - Angola canoeing athlete Fortunato Domingos on Monday here
said that his main goal is to be among the best competitors at Beijing Olympic Games,
expected for August 08-24, in that Asian country, Angop has learnt.
Speaking to Angop at Luanda "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, before his departure
to Beijing, the Angolan player said that the fight is to raise more and more Angola`s name
through this sport.
"The first step has already been given that was the qualification to the Olympic Games.
Now I will try to compete at the same level of the opponents that I will face in China", he
assured.
He said that the strongest opponents are from Hungary and Romania.
The athlete got the qualification after his second place at the African championship held in
Kenya, last January. |
