Luanda, 08/03 – Angola will participate for the first time in the competitions of beach volleyball and canoeing, during the Beijing Olympic Games, to be held on 08-24 August, in China.

The canoeing sport will be represented by Fortunato Domingos, while Manucho and Morais will represent beach volleyball, after having been qualified for the event three weeks ago.

This is Angola’s seventh presence in an event of this kind, this time with no participation in the plate shooting and Judo competitions.

Thus, the country will dispute the tournaments of senior male basketball, female handball, athletics, swimming, beach volleyball and canoeing.

Angola’s debut in the Olympic Games happened in 1980 in Moscow (Russia).
