Luanda, 07/31 - 1º de Agosto Thursday in Luanda beat Inteclube by 1-0, for the closing of the 17th round of the national first division soccer championship.
With this result, 1º de Agosto reduced to three points the gap from Petro de Luanda, leader of the competition with 38 points.
The only goal of the encounter, characterised by excess of yellow cards (8), was scored by Henry Milanzi at 33 minutes, without chances of defence by Inter’s goalie, Mário.
Besides a certain balance, the match reached halftime with the same result in favour of 1º de Agosto.
At the start of the second half, Interclube, worried with the result and trying to level the scores by placing Yano and Traoré (at the 58th minute) in replacement of Dedas and Cadez, brought a greater dynamics in the mid and attacking fields of the team.
In response, 1º de Agosto, led
by Jorge Humberto Chaves, assistant to Portuguese coach, Victor Manuel, over a punishment imposed by the federation, placed Bena amd Zé Augusto (at the 66th and 68th
minutes) in replacement of Milanzi and Avex.
With the aforementioned alterations, the opportunities were re-launched, with one pushing to increase the score and the other seeking to level the scores.
With this victory, 1º de Agosto remain in the second position with 35 points, whilst Interclube are in the ninth with 18 points.
Petro de Luanda lead the tournament with 38 points and Benfica do Lubango are at the bottom of the table with 12 points.
