Luanda Government Inaugurates 70 Social Undertakings

Torres Bunga affirms conclusion of 20 undertakings by late August |

Luanda, 06/29 – The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) will inaugurate, as
from the second fortnight of July, 70 social infrastructures that are being built in light of the
Public Investments Programme (PIP) and of Improvement of the Living standards of the
Population, mostly situated in the outskirts of the country’s capital.
Speaking to ANGOP this Sunday, the Luanda’s provincial director of Public Works, Torres
Bunga, said 20 of these undertakings are expected to be concluded by late August.
These works are in a conclusion stage, whilst the rest shall be inaugurated until next
December.
Various infrastructures were entrusted for rehabilitation and construction, with highlight to
hospitals, health centres, schools and sites for practicing sports, cemeteries, morgues, as well
as the rearrangement and improvement of roads in various wards of Luanda.
Torres Bunga called for a greater understanding from citizens of the capital city due to the
eventual constraints that the works might be causing, mainly of rehabilitation of roads and
pavements, in various areas.
He added that most works shall be concluded soon and they will bring more benefits for the
population, mainly on road circulation.
With population estimated at over five million inhabitants, Luanda comprises the districts of
Ingombota, Samba, Sambizanga, Rangel, Maianga, Kilamba Kiaxi, Cazenga, Cacuaco and
