Table-tennis: Under-21 Team Miss Target In African Championship

Luanda, 06/26 - Angola`s under-21 table tennis team in both sexes was not able to fulfil the outlined objectives at the African championship, that ended on Wednesday in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, despite getting a bronze medal.

This was said by the national team coach, Abilio Cruz, who explained that the Federation goal was to reach the first place at the competition.

Angola participated at the event with the players Domingos Manuel and Jerusa Borges who conquered a bronze medal in mixed pair. In individual competition and pairs in both sexes they did not reach the eighth-finals.

Meanwhile, the two main players of the national team Fernando Bumba and Regina Lucas missed the competition due to administrative reason.

The games were attended by Angola, South Africa, Nig eria, Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Cote d’Ivoire.

South Africa dominated the games.
