WHO Representative Works in Cabinda Province
Cabinda, 06/26 - The representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in
Angola, Diosdado Vicente Nsue-Milang, arrived on Wednesday in the northern Cabinda
Province for a two-day work visit, aimed at learning about the sanitary situation in this region.
Accompanied by technicians of this sector, the WHO official will check the experiments and
constraints in the implementation of strategies adopted by the local health programmes, aiming
for the well-being of the people.
The sharing of experiences and knowledge for the improvement of health indicators,
particularly in the Epidemiologic Vigilance area, routine vaccination, social mobilisation and the
need to stimulate the relation among the partners in the health sector, are some of the subjects
to be analysed in Cabinda, by the visiting WHO official.
On Wednesday, Diosdado Vicente Nsue-Milang held meetings with the local public health
department head and the co-ordinator of public health programmes.
He also gathered with officials linked to the Polio and Broad Vaccination (PAV) programmes,
as well as with a Cuban consulting group and the NPO Malaria project, having transmitted to
them important guidelines.
This Thursday, the WHO official is to met with the health department director, Luis Kitembo,
and with members of the provincial government, as well as with the representative of the NGO
Consaude and the director of the Cabinda Hospital, besides visiting this health unit.
Visits some other health centres and hospitals are also the agenda of the World Health
Organisation (WHO) representative to Angola.
Diosdado Vicente Nsue-Milang`s delegation is due back in Luanda this Thursday, after
holding a balance meeting with the local press.
