Angolan Official Discusses Zimbabwean Political Situation With ZANU-PF
Luanda, 06/25 - The head of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) election Observers Mission to Zimbabwe, the Angolan José Marcos Barrica, Wednesday analysed, in Harare, with the secretary-general of ZANU-PF, Didymus Mutasa, the current political situation in the country.
Marcos Barrica asked Didymus Mutasa, who is also the State Security minister, to taking into account the reconciliation factor and acting with generosity, should his candidate win the elections.
To the head of SADC mission, the MDC leader Tsvangirai is an active element for Zimbabwean political society, and you can rebuild together the country toward development.
The secretary-general who embraced the advice, with pleasure, pledged that ZANU-PF, and his leader Robert Mugabe, recognise the politician Tsvangirai as a son who
can also contribute to the country`s fate.
The Angolan minister is also expected Wednesday to meet with MDC leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, in the Dutch embassy to Zimbabwe, where he took refuge since Monday.
The presidential run-off in Zimbabwe, which would initially bring face to face Morgan Tsvangirai and Robert Mugabe, will take place on Friday. The MDC leader has formally
submitted, last Tuesday, his pull-out decision to the Zimbabwean Electoral Commission (ZEC).
The SADC stand comes in the wake of the main opposition leader having submitted the document four days before the elections, instead of 21 days ahead of the time, because the ballots had already been printed, bearing the names and photos of the two contenders, that will, however, allow the voters to elect the candidate of their own choice.
