Moxico: Agriculture Ministry Debates Food Crisis in Consultative Council
Luena, 06/25 – "World food crisis and the implications in the country" are one of the
main issues to be discussed in the 32nd Consultative Council of the Ministry of Agriculture and
Rural Development, to be held from this Wednesday to Thursday in Luena city, eastern
Moxico Province.
ANGOP learnt from the programme of debates that the meeting will also analyse issues
related to the "Development Bank of (BDA) and the First Year of Financing the Agrarian
Sector" and the "Activities of Cooperatives and Associations in Angola".
The Consultative Council will also analyse the situation of the coffee sector, the mechanised
preparation of soils, rehabilitation of irrigated fields and large-scale agricultural production.
Participants to the event will also assess forestry programmes, rural expansion, cattle breeding,
re-launching coffee plating, agrarian research and combat to desertification, among others.
The Consultative Council shall be presided over by the incumbent of the sector, Afonso Pedro
Canga, and will be attended by the deputy minister of Agriculture, national, provincial,
technical directors and among other invited guests. |
