Angola/Namibia Security Experts Gathered in Windhoek
Luanda, 06/24 – Experts of the Angola/Namibia Joint Commission for Defence and Security are gathered since this Tuesday in Windhoek, to prepare the 15th ministers’ meeting in this domains to happen on 26 June.
The Angolan delegation to the meeting, which will also put into perspective future actions, is headed by the Defence deputy minister for Defence Policy, Gaspar Santos Rufino.
The experts commissions for this kind of annual events are sub grouped in three, namely defence, internal security and state security which meet separately aimed at outlining strategies
in these domains.
Matters related to border trespassing crimes, free circulation of people and goods along the common border, fight against drugs dealing, cattle and cars robbery, are issues that will top the experts meeting agenda, which will last two days.
The documentation and conclusions from these work sessions will be submitted afterwards to the ministerial meeting, whose delegations will be headed by the incumbent Defence ministers of both countries, Kundi Paihama (Angola) and Charles Namoloh (Namibia).
Generals and senior officials of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and National Police, employees of the ministries of Defence, Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Welfare and Social Reintegration, Agriculture and Rural Development, Customs and other institutions of the state´s central administration are part of the Angolan delegation.
The 14th meeting of Angola/Namibia Joint Commission for Defence and Security took place in the southern Cunene Province (Angola) last year.
Angola and Namibia share a common land border with an extension of 1,376 kilometres.
