The CNE official said so at the opening of a training programme for electoral trainers, which will debate, until Thursday, themes like “The role of electoral actors”, “Competences of the CNE”, “Candidacies” and “Elections observers”, among other subjects.

Addressing participants, Caetano de Sousa said that the CNE started the cycle of preparing those people that will have the mission of going to the rest of the provinces to train other personnel that will be working at polling stations.

“The National Electoral Commission started the training of national trainers, as the first step to train about 256,000 people who will work in polling stations”, he explained.

He went on to say that there is a need to prepare all these people so that they know the legislations that supports the work of the CNE, for the institution to fulfil its main task in this process, which is to guarantee the exercise of voting to all eligible citizens, in September 2008.
