Sodiam Diamond Firm Wins International Mining Fair’s Trophy
Luanda, 06/23 – Sodiam, an Angolan diamonds company, won the top trophy of the
2008 International Mining Fair (FIMA), which happened since last Wednesday in Luanda and
closed on Sunday evening, for winning various of the event´s prizes.
The second edition of the International Mining Fair (FIMA), which ended with a “Diamonds
Gala”, awarded the prize for the best mining company exhibition stand to Angola’s diamonds
lapidary plant ADP, and best service provider to the International Business Bank (BNI).
For five days (from 18 to 22 June), 130 firms, among national and foreign ones, participated
in this second edition of the International Mining Fair (FIMA).
In the closing dinner (Diamond Gala), held in Talatona Conventions Centre (CCTA), in
Luanda, provided by FIMA’s organising body to exhibiters, mining sector employees and the
press, over 500 people among, Angolans and foreigners, attended the gala.
FIMA is an event organised by Luanda’s International Fair (FIL), the National Diamonds
Company of Angola (ENDIAMA E.P) and the Ministry of Geology and Mining.
The event was aimed at promoting the potential of the Angolan mining industries and warning
firms on the care to be taken in the execution of their activities, taking into account the
environmental balance. |
