Chieftain Praises National Meeting on Traditional Authority
Luanda, 06/21 - The second National meeting on Traditional Authority was very important because positive results came from this gathering, as participants analysed this form of public local authority, which is prior to state authority.
This was said to ANGOP on Friday here by the traditional chief (Soba) of Luanda Island, Napoleão, at the end of the referred meeting.
He added that the gathering was also useful due to the fact that it debated the drafting of a Juridical Statute for the traditional authority.
“I am very satisfied because it is essential to let society know about our rights, so that the traditional authority be respected and also for people to understand that the use of our authority is based on tradition and customs, thus guaranteeing unity and social harmony”, Soba Napoleão emphasised.
The second National Meeting on National Authority took place on 19-20 June, in Luanda, under the aegis of the Ministry of Territory Administration. |
